Biography
Matheo Techer was born on January 6th, 1998 in Reunion island (France).
Matheo, whose parents are accomplished musicians, grew up surrounded by music. He has been playing drums since he was 3 and started to study music in the regional Conservatory at the age of 7. He studied theory and performance. He received his certificate of musical studies in 2013, and his Diploma of Musical studies in 2015.
Matheo grew up listening and playing lots of musical styles (Modern jazz, soul, funk and of course traditional music from Reunion Island).
He began composing original material at 12 years old, recording himself all the instruments (Drums, Guitar, Bass, Piano...). Matheo composes pop music, but also experiments with Jazz/soul Music.

While he was studying in Reunion, Matheo played with many local artists (Dominique Barret, Meddy Gerville, Bernard Joron...) and also performed on the best stages there (Theatre de Saint-Gilles, Theatre du Tampon...).
In 2012, he was involved in "La Nuit Des Virtuoses" and performed with Jimmy Wahlsteen, Buddy Green and Jeff Taylor.
He is invited with his band to the 10th edition of the festival in 2017 to perform original music and also collaborate with Jacob Collier.

After a Summer Program in the prestigious American Berklee College Of Music (Boston, MA), Matheo received a scholarship (based on his abilities and potential). After High school graduation he moved from Réunion Island to Boston, MA to go forward in his studies and musical career.

He started Berklee in September 2015. and began performing in North America right away (mainly New England, New York).
Matheo then collaborated with many well known musicians such as Matthew Garrison, Federico Malaman, Darren Barrett and many others.
